With a passion for continuous improvement, collaboration, and mentoring, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt operations leader and industrial engineer Delia Charvel has dedicated her career to the development of people and processes throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe.
Delia thrives in project management, cross-functional leadership, personnel training, business process development and improvement, and team growth. She has executed numerous employee development programs for manufacturing personnel, including programs incorporating concepts such as Lean Six Sigma and Demand Flow Technology. Additionally, Delia has led the transformation of multiple value streams with an increased proven throughput capacity of up to 5X, which also resulted in shorter cycle times and lead times within a short planning window for critical revenue generating lines. She has also led the successful go-live of an SAP ERP migration project and process standardization for Master Data for thousands of parts, and has been a key member and contributor of ISO 9001 certifications. Delia has also led multiple supply chain improvement projects including material and freight cost reductions and point-of-use inventory implementation.
In each project, Delia acts as a trusted, hands-on consultant who provides the tools and experience necessary to manage complex projects that align with corporate objectives and needs. She is recognized for driving manufacturing & operational excellence with her ability to advance productivity, reduce costs, improve the agility and quality of products, reduce operational risk, and streamline and standardize processes while simultaneously inspiring colleagues with her knowledge and global experience. She takes pride in her ability to share her operations knowledge with members across an organization and her constant drive to improve customer satisfaction.
Delia holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from CETYS University, Mexicali, B. C. and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine. She also holds a professional certificate in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the University of California, San Diego. Due to her leadership in improved product design and manufacturing methods, in 2016 Delia was awarded the prestigious Nord Prize for Innovation, which is the highest award honoring an individual or team who has made an extraordinary contribution to Nordson Corporation’s (NASDAQ: NDSN) business growth or technology. Delia was a member of the AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence) San Diego consortium board for more than 10 years.
